GUIDE 01 / FULL-COST PLANNING

The quoted build price is only one line.

A useful website comparison places initial work, recurring services and likely changes on the same timeline. This guide gives you the categories without inventing a universal price.

Initial work

Record discovery, structure, writing, design, development, content entry, migration, integrations, testing, accessibility checks and launch support.

Recurring services

Record hosting, domain renewal, licensed software, maintenance, security monitoring, backups, reporting and ongoing content support.

Change costs

Ask how new pages, languages, integrations, design changes and urgent fixes are priced. Confirm whether unused support time expires.

Ownership questions

  • Whose account holds the domain and hosting?
  • Who owns the final source and design files?
  • Which components require continuing licences?
  • What is required to move to another supplier?
Comparison rule

Use the same time period and assumptions for every proposal. Mark unknown items instead of treating them as zero.
